Lynda "Nan" - President/Owner
Lynda was born and raised in Salt Lake City , Utah, where she began her teaching career. She has always had a passion for teaching young children, and has worked with children her whole life. From a 4th/5th grade title one teacher, to her own children, to her grandchildren, she has developed a great love for children. When working with them, she loves to watch them grow, from their first step to the first sentence they learn to read, she has a special talent working with them. She also has enjoyed spending a lot of time volunteering for her church, working with boy scout's, young women's, and activity days. She discovered how wonderful the Montessori method is when she saw her grandson achieve academic excellence while enrolled at a Montessori school. She believes Montessori is a excellent way of teaching young minds because of the hands-on, real life experiences children receive through Montessori.
In her spare time she likes to read, play scrabble, and spend time at her cabin. She is thrilled to be apart of Blooming Minds Montessori and can't wait to see young minds blossom. Lynda and her grandmother founded the school in October of 2013.
Ms. Maegan - Program Director
Maegan was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from Cyprus High School, where she was on the Drill Team, and Dance Company. She graduated from Montessori Teacher Education Center in San Francisco with her American Montessori Society Associates credential with an emphasis on Early Childhood Education in June 2013.
Maegan has always loved working with children, and believes she has a special bond with them. She loves to watch children grow, and see how they develop. She believes that the Montessori way of educating children is one of the best programs there is. Maegan thinks that children need to develop independence, and be able to explore their worlds hands-on.
Maegan has worked with preschool aged children for almost 9 years, and has loved every minute of it. In her space time she enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs, listening to music, and doing anything outdoors. Her dream has always been to open her own preschool, and Blooming Minds Montessori has made her dream a reality. Maegan and her grandmother founded BMM in October 2013.
Ms. Jessie - Co-Director
Jessie was born and raised in Magna, Utah. She graduated from Cyprus High School, where she was on the Drill Team. She then attended College of Eastern Utah where she was a cheerleader and excellent student. She transferred to Southern Utah University where she again was a cheerleader and excelled in her classes.
Jessie found her love for teaching children while working at Dancing Moose Montessori for 2 years. She was an assistant teacher in a toddler classroom and fell in love with being a Montessori Teacher. She was then trained by Maegan for 6 months, this taught her the ins and outs of the Montessori Method and that fostering children's independence at a young age is crucial.
Jessie has a great talent of working with children. She has vision of giving back to the community by teaching young children. Jessie and her husband have one daughter (Kate), 2 horses, and three dogs. In her free time, she enjoys anything outdoors like fishing, camping, biking, and playing with her daughter and nephew. Blooming Minds is very excited to have her on our team. She joined us when the school opened in October 2013.
Ms. Camille - Office Manager
Ms. Camille was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated with a Generals AS Degree from Dixie State University. Camille has explored many careers in her life- she was a Cosmetologist for 22 years, she worked in the ER at the University of Utah, and previous to Blooming Minds she worked as a substitute teacher at Dancing Moose Montessori School.
Her experience as a substitute really opened her eyes to how much she loves working with children. She grasped onto the Montessori concept quickly, she especially fell in love with the Independence concept in the Montessori philosophy.
She is fun, energetic, and isn’t scared to get right down to the child’s level and play with them. She has a great passion for animals and has 3 “fur babies” (Sunny, Gracie, and Toby) and 2 parrots (Lily & Kyle). In her spare time, she loves to travel, shop, go on bike rides, and be with family and friends. She started at BMM as a substitute in January of 2015, worked as a co-teacher for a year and a half, and began as BMM's office manager this year.
Ms. Morgan - Aftercare Director & Daffodil’s Lead Teacher
Ms. Morgan is 20 years old and was born and raised in American Fork, Utah. She graduated from Lehi High school in 2014. She’s currently a student at Salt Lake Community College, where she’s working on her generals with the hope of getting into their occupational therapy program.
Morgan just recently got engaged and is planning on getting married next spring. Her fiancé and Morgan just bought our first home together, in American Fork and are so excited to begin their life together. She absolutely loves spending time outside and especially loves hiking and camping.
Morgan began working at BMM in August of 2016 and absolutely fell in love with the school. She is very passionate about learning and quickly found a passion for helping kids learn. She thinks it is so fun watching little ones grow and she is so happy to be a part of children’s lives! Morgan is a very happy, spunky, and dedicated teacher and BMM is so lucky to have her.
Ms. April - Daffodil's Co-Teacher
Ms. April is 20 years old and she has lived in Utah her whole life. She graduated from Westlake high school where she was on the soccer team. She loves to be outdoors, going hiking, swimming, and camping, as well as being with her horses. She has been around horses ever since she was 4 years old.
Her love for kids started on a young age. She’s always been really good with children and some people even say it’s her greatest trait. She believes she just has a lot of patience and that she’s good at understanding kids. April loves to watch kids grow and watch their minds expand. She especially loves to give kids confidence in what they are learning and achieving. April is working on her BA degree in Early Childhood Education right now at UVU with a minor in social work. She’s really fun and outgoing and really loves to see kids happy. April joined the BMM team in August 2017.
Ms. Megan - Sunflower's Lead Teacher
Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Megan fostered a love for the outdoors and the peaceful environment found there. She also enjoys traveling and discovering new places. Megan likes to read and has also found a new hobby in cooking.
She loves spending time with her family and feels that sharing the things they enjoy is key to maintaining their family bonds.
Megan is a bright and upbeat personality who seeks out happiness and new ways to grow. Megan found her passion for working with young children in high school when she worked in the preschool program. The opportunity to strengthen and grow that love for teaching came while in college, when she met her now husband and started a family of her own. Working in customer service positions and enjoying the early childhood of her own three children she decided to put her experience to work and began teaching preschool.
Megan was quick to share the love for life and the world around them that all children have. Almost 8 years of teaching experience in various schools and positions has provided Megan with patience and a sincere love for teaching. Megan comes to Blooming Minds Montessori highly recommended by students, parents and previous colleagues.
She believes Blooming Minds Montessori School offers the opportunity to teach in a loving environment where the child's desire and natural ability to discover and grow is encouraged and built upon. She is excited to be working within the Montessori teaching method and is looking forward to sharing her skills and becoming a strong team member within the school. This summer Megan attended the Institute for Montessori Innovation at Westminster College this summer where she did an intensive course on Montessori Early Childhood education. She will graduated with her Associates credential in Montessori next spring. She joined the BMM team in March 2015.
Ms. Kirsten - Sunflower's Co-Teacher
Ms. Kirsten has lived in Utah for 15 years, but is originally from Texas. She has been married for 9 years and has three beautiful boys ages 8, 5, and 3. She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 2006. In high school she did an internship the entire year in a fifth grade class. She has always loved teaching, but this was her first experience in a classroom. She enjoyed interacting with the kids and learning about classroom management strategies. Also during high school, she taught piano and directed a few neighborhood plays.
After high school, her love of teaching led her to BYU-Idaho, where she graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She was able to do my student teaching at South Jordan Elementary and it was then that she fell in love with the South Jordan and Riverton area.
After she graduated, she took a break from teaching to be a stay at home mom to her son and was a stay at home mom for six years. During that time, she started a blog called "Moms Have Questions Too" which focused on preschool teaching at home. In late 2014, she sold my blog and decided to go to nail school. In 2015, she graduated from nail school and began a self-employed business as a nail technician. It was at this time that her kids started going to Blooming Minds.
Kirsten's nail business quickly grew from a few clients to a solid clientèle. As much as she loved doing nails, she always felt the urge to return to the classroom every time she was in Blooming Minds. Eventually the opportunity arose for her to join Blooming Minds and she couldn't have been more excited. She was sad to say goodbye to her nail business, but teaching has always been in her blood and she's so happy to get back to those roots. She's thrilled to be back in the classroom and honored to work with such talented teachers and adorable children. She joined the Blooming Minds team in November 2016.
Ms. Marisa - Sunflower's Co-Teacher
Marisa loves to write, sing, and help kids grow! Her interest in Education began when her parents started a school in 2006. Her parents’ school was a liberal arts school that studied the classics, encouraged agency, free thinking, individuality, and self-discovery. Seeing this school in action changed her life and she discovered who she was and what she cared about. It was during this time that she first heard of Montessori.
Fast forward a few years – she was working as a Para-Educator in the special education program at a Montessori school when she decided to pursue a Montessori Certification in Early Childhood. She studied in St. Louis with wonderful people who believed in the “Greatness of the Child”, coupled with the simplicity of happy, self-driven learning. She loved to watch the joy and confidence of a child who knows his own mind, and is every expanding in his understanding of the world around him.
Ms. Tabbi - Wildflower's Lead Teacher
Tabbi is a 26 year old mother and fiancé to her high school sweetheart of ten years. She was born in Nevada but grew up in Magna, UT. Tabbi graduated from Cyprus High School where she was on the softball team and a varsity cheerleader.
After high school she became a dental assistant through the Dental Assisting School of Utah and found a love for all things dental. During her time as a dental assistant she and her fiancé decided to expand their family and welcomed their first child (a daughter- Olivia) in August 2015.
She then became a stay at home mother taking care of her daughter and her infant niece and discovered a passion for teaching little ones after seeing just how much children grow and bloom in their early years. She loves being a part of the Blooming Minds family, and especially loves the opportunity to help young minds grow and develop. She joined BMM in November of 2016.
Ms. Yiselle - Wildflower's Co-Teacher
Yiselle was born in Bountiful, Utah and moved to Mooresville, North Carolina at a young age. She started babysitting her 2 younger brothers when she was around 10 years old. This began her love for caring after children. She also became involved with music and band, which consumed her life in high school. She was the senior drum major in marching band her senior year.
Yiselle served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from May 2013-November 2014. She served in the Colorado Fort Collins mission, Spanish speaking. She is married to an awesome husband and they have a puppy named Norah. She loves reading, studying academic journals on family functions (not joking!), painting, going to the movies, and attending concerts.
Working with children is a passion of Yiselle's. She loves helping children explore the world around them. She encourages creativity and independence in learning. Her favorite part of working with kids is seeing their development over time.
Yiselle has had multiple child care jobs, including being a nanny, a summer camp counselor, an after school counselor, and pre-school teacher; all of which adds up to about 8 years working with children. She is a senior at Southern Virginia University, completing her degree through Utah Valley. In the spring of 2018, she will have her bachelors in Family and Child Development.
Ms. Maria - Daisies Lead Teacher
Maria Baldarrago was raised in Orem, Utah and moved to Herriman in 2003 following a 3-month summer vacation to her native country, Peru. She graduated from Timpanogos High School with a 4.0 GPA and college credits, at which she also discovered her love for working with children during her senior year interning at a pediatrician’s office.
She has explored a number of career choices that provided her with the opportunity to work with children but after becoming a mother of two, it became clear to her that she wanted to help young children learn, grow, and develop in an educational setting. She received her Associate of Science degree in Family and Human Studies from Salt Lake Community College.
There, she spent three semesters teaching preschool children as a lab student at the Eccles Early Childhood Development Lab School. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Utah in Human Development and Family Studies, with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. She is hoping to earn her Montessori credential from Westminster College this Summer.
She is a positive, fun, loving and energetic person and is excited for the opportunity to teach at Blooming Minds Montessori School. She believes a Montessori education provides a powerful way to learn and thrive using beautiful materials and a prepared environment that fosters independence and interest in all areas of curriculum.
She knows that this school will not only prepare children for school, but also for life. Besides parenting and teaching, she enjoys going on family dates, listening to classical music, crafting and scrapbooking, eating avocados and mangos, and going on nature walks. Maria joined the BMM team in April 2015.
Ms. Whitney - Daisies Co-Teacher
Ms. Whitney is 22 years old and has been married for 3 years. She graduated from Cosmetology School in 2012 and starting working at Cosmo Prof Beauty supply. After about 3 years of working there and doing hair on the side; she decided that being a cosmetologist wasn’t her passion and started on a new path. She knew that she loves being around people and even more so, loves taking care of children.
She gained professional experience with children by becoming a nanny for a family friend and absolutely fell in love with it. She ended up leaving her job as a nanny when she welcomed her own daughter, Sophia, who is now almost 2! Sophia is the light of her life and takes up all of her free time.
Whitney is very outgoing and independent and a great asset to Blooming Minds. She is committed to continuing her knowledge on caring for and teaching her students.
She especially loves the rewarding feeling she gets from this job, and continually says that this is the best job she’s ever had. Whitney joined our BMM family in February 2017.
Ms. Emily - Dandelion's Lead Teacher
Emily was born and raised in Salt Lake City, UT with a family of nine children. She moved to St George, UT during high school where she graduated from Tuacahn High School for the Performing Arts.
She grew up with a love for music & dance, as well as painting & drawing. After graduating, she worked as a teacher's assistant at an elementary school, which is where she really discovered her love for working with children.
She later moved back to the Salt Lake area to attended Salt Lake Community College for her general education. She married her high school sweetheart and has a 6 & 2 year old. She nannied for a family with three children, ages two, five, and seven, and her love of children grew even stronger.
She had to quit the job after moving to South Jordan because of the long distance. When she learned of the teaching position at Blooming Minds Montessori School, she knew it was a perfect fit. She is so excited to be a part of the Blooming Minds team and joined us in March of 2015.
Ms. Nicole - Dandelion's Co-Teacher
Ms. Nicole is 19 years old and was born in American Fork, UT. She and her family moved out to Eagle Mountain when she was pretty young, so that is where she spent her time growing up. Nicole played soccer all through her years of schooling, and she has always been super athletic. She graduated from Westlake High School in 2016 and has been working full time to support herself. She is currently trying to move out on her own, and plans on going to Utah Valley University sometime in the 2018 school year. Her goal is to be a therapist for children with mental health issues.
She grew up with 3 sisters, one older and two younger. So she always had experience with taking care of younger children. Growing up, she did a lot of babysitting around the neighborhood and for family. From a young age, she has had a love for kids and when she saw the job opening for Blooming Minds, she knew that it would be something she would love. Nicole has loved every minute of working with these little friends at BMM and is excited for this school year.
Ms. Kayla - Art Teacher & Floater
Kayla is 26 years old and was born in Ashland, Wisconsin – she lived there her whole life up until moving to Utah last summer. She attended Washburn High school, and afterword attended the University of Wisconsin- Superior.
Kayla graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Art Therapy, and is a wonderful artist today. Kayla has a Husky puppy named Luna, who takes up most of her time at home. She loves taking her to the dog park and on walks. In her free time Kayla loves to draw, go camping, and hiking.
Before moving to Utah, she worked at a Daycare in Wisconsin and discovered her love for kids. After moving to Utah she knew she wanted another job working with kids. Kayla was hired on at Blooming Minds in August of 2016 and instantly fell in love with teaching. She is excited to continue to grow here at BMM.
Ms. Christil - Aftercare Teacher
Christil was born in Utah and grew up in Riverton, UT. She is attending Riverton High School where she has been taking concurrent enrollment classes and has been on the honor roll since junior high.
She’s currently taking child development classes and love working with children. After graduating from high school she plans to attend the University of Utah where she will study medicine and become an anesthesiologist. She enjoys spending time with my family and friends, dancing, playing sports, and going camping.
One of her favorite places to go is Jackson Hole, Wyoming where she really likes to go hiking in the Tetons. She’s so thankful for the opportunity to be part of the team at Blooming Minds as an aftercare teacher in the Dandelion’s classroom. She joined the team in February 2017.
Ms. Kayla - Aftercare Teacher
Makayla is 17 years old and was born and raised in Riverton, Utah. She has 3 siblings, an older brother and a younger brother and sister, who she absolutely loves spending time with. She is currently attending Riverton High school, where she is working hard to get as much college credit as possible.
Once she graduates, she plans to attend college and get her degree in Occupational therapy, with a focus on special needs children. Kayla has a cousin with Down syndrome and after spending time with him, she knew she wanted to work with other children with special needs.
In her free time she loves to draw, spend time with friends, and go shopping. She started at BMM in early 2016, as an aftercare teacher and absolutely loves it. Being a part of children's lives is such a rewarding job.
Ms. Jessica - Aftercare Teacher
Ms. Jessica was born and raised in Queen Creek, Arizona but now lives in Riverton, Utah. She's a sophomore at Riverton High School, and is apart of the drama club. She enjoys singing and doing school musicals. She has four siblings, and loves spending time with her family. Jessica also loves to spend time outdoors with her animals- she has 3 horses and 3 dogs. Jessica has nannied for the last four years and loves working with children. After high school, she plans on attending college and majoring in child physiology. She was so excited when she was offered the job at BMM and loves being a part of kiddo's lives. She joined BMM in April 2017.
Ms. Teisha - Substitute
Teisha is 25 yrs old and was born in Reno, NV but grew up in Magna, UT. She graduated from Cyprus High school where she excelled in the School of Health program. She was a varsity cheerleader at Cyprus as well. Later she attended Stevens-Henager College where she received her associates degree in Occupational Studies, focusing on medical occupations.
She is mother to a happy, quirky and energetic 1 year old (Charlotte) and is married to a fitness enthusiast. She enjoys playing with her daughter and going on adventures with her little family. She recently moved back to Utah after a year in Texas where her and her family made it through Hurricane Harvey.
Teisha found a love of working with children after various callings of the LDS church in the Primary. She has taught Sunbeams (3-4yr old children) and has been an Activity Day leader as well. Becoming a mother has also given her a new passion of watching young children grow and learn new things in the world around them. She believes as a Teacher at BMM, her and all of the teachers are given a very important job that will give these sweet children some of the most valuable lessons they will learn and is veryexcited to be working at BMM.
Ms. Brooke - Substitute
Brooke is 18 years old and was born here in Herriman, Utah. She stills resides in Herriman and plans to stay while she studies at Salt Lake Community College, SLCC, to obtain my associates in Pre-Health Science. Her goal is to be accepted in the Physical Therapy Assistant program at SLCC, in fall 2019. She will continue her education and plans to become a Pediatric Physical Therapist and specialize in neuromuscular conditions.
She was attracted to the position at Blooming Minds Montessori because she has a great ability to connect with children and has a love for helping. She graduated from Herriman High where she taught at the Mini Mustang Preschool, in 2017. After she graduated, she left for Europe and visited 5 different countries and gained worldly experiences. She joined BMM in September 2017.
